HSR Summer Road Race: This Wednesday Night!
  • Wednesday Night, Brockton Results
    CRR/HSR (Hockomock Swamp Rat) Road Race Series--the oldest continuous weekly racing program in New England. The 3.75 mile race takes place at D.W. Field Park (off Oak Street) in Brockton, MA, and is open to all comers. Starting May 4, 2005, through August 31, 2005--the night of the infamous handicap race and the annual last race part. Races start promptly at 6:45 PM at the top of Tower Hill. Registration is at the Pentangle parking lot. The donation is $2.00 per race. The 2004 Series had more than 220 different participants, and an average of more than 30 runners per week over the 18 weeks.

2005 HSR Summer Series - Special Events Calendar

May 4, 2005 First Night! Register (any day) and receive a running number that is good for the season.  These numbers are good for the Monday and Tuesday night races as well.
TBA Double Loop Race Runner's Choice: Race the traditional single loop 3.75M course, or if you prefer, race 2 loops around the Park for 7.25 miles.
TBA Figure eight race, 4.1 miles A figure eight course is set up within the original course including  south street.
TBA Reverse Direction Race Will your time be faster if you run down Tower Hill and race the course in the reverse direction? [*Tentative date only.]
August 31, 2005 Handicap Race @ 6:30pm! Based on previous 2005 performance, the swiftly challenged runners start first - faster runners go last. Race Starts at 6:30pm!
August 31, 2005 Annual Last Race Party After the last series race a gathering at a place for food and drink. Details to follow.
